A few questions, answered.

Do I need a Dot in ChatGPT?

Yes. Dotverse connects to your existing Dot through a sign-in window. It doesn’t provide a separate AI service or ask for an API key. You’ll need an internet connection to chat. Some features open in the connected Dot window.

Do my Dots share memory?

Yes. Each custom Dot has its own role, personality, and conversation view in Dotverse. They use the same underlying Dot and share its memory. Requests run one at a time.

Where are my conversations stored?

Dotverse keeps encrypted copies of conversations and drafts on your Mac. Messages are also sent to your connected Dot service. Clearing local history doesn’t clear Dot’s own conversations or memory.

How do I install Dotverse?

Download the DMG above and drag Dotverse into Applications. Open it from Applications, then sign in to your existing Dot. Dotverse runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later. You can check for new versions in Settings or the Dotverse app menu.
